Anyway, last week Ma’am Anik gave us the material to learn entitled “The Ultimate Guide to Blogging” by Content Marketing Institute. In this post, I will reveal what I have learned and the important points of blog writing.

In creating a blog, we have to know who the target readers are. After considering this aspect, our writing needs to show our own “voice” to make us sounds different from other bloggers. It also needs to tell a story to make the readers feel engaged with the writing and induced a conversation through the comment section.

There are always customers who complain a lot or leaving negative comments on the blog posts. So, how do we handle that? Well, reply with a positive response by professionalism and tact. Include the appropriate person in the company as well to handle the situation.

Do you know that in the company’s blog you also need an organized team? The answer is yes! Not only a blog needs content creators, but also several other roles with their own responsibilities are needed for a complete team to handle ay kind of situations. For example, your team should include a marketer, copy editor, web resource, human resources, and many else.

There are several tricks to make your post get a lot of clicks or engagement by an analysis from Outbrain:
  1. A title with eight words received 21% higher click rate than average.
  2. Readers are attracted to content with images.
  3. Lists and photo galleries drive more page views and click-throughs. Headlines contained odd numbers have a higher rate than even numbers.
  4. Include a colon or hyphen in your title.
  5. Titles ended with a question mark is click-worthy than ended with periods or exclamation marks.
Not only that, but you can also do these things to get engagement; such as promoting in social media, make a teaser content on other sites to invite them what’s new in the blog, comment on other blogs with the same topic to come to your blog, or ask other bloggers to mention your post.

Because some companies start to utilize blogs as their content marketing, it is extremely important for us to learn blog writing. If we can master this course, a lot of companies will surely reach us to be part of them.

I hope by reading this blog you get some insight or at least give you reasons why you should learn blog writing. See you in another post~😉
